Nelson Naturals Vanilla Orange Hydroxyapatite Toothpaste is a fluoride-free paste for anyone who wants a short ingredient list and a flavour that isn't mint. Sweet orange peel oil and natural vanilla flavour give it a mild, orange-cream taste that kids and adults can share.
At its centre is natural-origin, non-synthetic hydroxyapatite, which Nelson Naturals offers as an alternative to synthetic nano-hydroxyapatite and animal-derived sources. It works alongside a trace mineral concentrate with more than 72 naturally occurring minerals, xylitol, calcium carbonate and food-grade bentonite clay, which absorbs surface stains and gently polishes for a smoother feel and a brighter-looking smile.
What to expect: with no SLS, gelling agents, emulsifiers or preservatives, this paste feels different from conventional toothpaste. It brushes up creamy with little foam, and the flavour is gentle rather than intense. Natural separation or firming over time is normal; stir with a metal spoon, adding a little water if it has dried out.
How to use: Dip your toothbrush into the jar for a pea-sized amount, or apply it with a small spoon. Brush as usual, then spit. Re-cap the jar tightly after each use. Best used within 2 months of opening.
Vegan, gluten-free and not tested on animals, it is made in Nelson, BC, and packed in a zero-waste glass jar you can reuse, recycle or refill at participating refill stores. Pair it with your usual floss and a manual or electric toothbrush.
